“Your baby rivals a good-size cabbage in weight, tipping the scales this week at 3 pounds. (Length: about 15 3/4 inches, head to heel.)” – babycenter.com
Other things going on this week:
- Her eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after she’s born, she’ll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day.
- The baby has fully developed and functional digestive tract and lungs
- Her favorite new trick is to kick me in the diaphragm right after I eat.
Hooray, 7 and 1/2 months! I had a Dr’s appointment yesterday and it turns out that I passed my glucose test and my iron levels are fine. The baby’s heart rate and my blood pressure were at good levels and my weight and belly measurements are right on track. The third trimester is definitely setting in; I have to pee all the time again, I get heart burn at the drop of a hat, and stupid stuff makes me weepy (like the scene where Kevin Costner cries in Thirteen Days). Plus a few new things; the heat and humidity make my feet and fingers plump up like tiny sausages – but not as cute, my back hurts all the time, my stride has taken on a noticable waddle. Luckily, just a few more weeks to go.
Up Next: the new carpet is being installed in 2 weeks then we can finally put the nursery together.
